At the Solofra Civic Center, housed in the former Convent of Santa Chiara — a remarkable 14th-century architectural complex — a new archaeological section has been inaugurated, showcasing artifacts dating from the Middle Paleolithic to the Medieval period.

The project involved the ground floor of the west wing, specifically two rooms overlooking the evocative inner courtyard. The spaces have been completely renovated: the walls, painted in matte black, eliminate the perception of architectural boundaries, creating an immersive atmosphere that enhances the display structures. These, made of metal and painted in a vivid orange inspired by the warm hues of terracotta, immediately draw the visitor’s attention and guide them through the exhibition narrative.

An additional display element, mounted on the wall, creates the illusion of a breach carved into the masonry, enriching the visual experience.

The lighting design, carefully conceived to be minimal yet effective, highlights the artifacts and restores their central importance.

Petrucci S.r.l. oversaw the construction of new drywall partitions, resin flooring, the upgrading of the electrical system with a new lighting setup and audio systems, and the fabrication of the metal display structures finished with matte epoxy paint.
